Interruption

story photo

Kelly: "Hi, I thought I'd pop in on my way to town and... WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"
Damien: "Hello. Nothing. Just taking out some trash."

What can we do?

story photo

Mrs. Hatter: "You're quite right, Damien. There's only one thing we can do.... Kelly, I'm so sorry it had to come to this, but if we let you go, you'll run to Tommy in no time. And we can't have that. You have been a good friend, but family comes first."

Next morning - Here to stay

story photo

Mrs. Hatter: "Hilda, what you did yesterday was quite remarkable. I think we can forget all about that 'try and see how it works out.' You seem to be just the right housekeeper for us. That is, if you still want to stay after what happened."
Hilda: "Thank you. Like I told you earlier, I can always find a way to handle a situation. And I'll be happy to stay."

Yet another police visit

story photo

Tommy: "Mrs. Hatter, I'm not sure if you have heard, but your ex-husband and one other prisoner escaped from the prison yesterday."
Mrs. Hatter: "Really? How is that possible? I thought it was maximum security."
Tommy: "I don't know the details, but I was told that it involved some sort of circus stunts. Anyway, it seems that your ex-husband was shot, but he fell into a river, and the body has not been found yet."

Coincidences

story photo

Tommy: "You know, somebody could think it a bit odd that so many strange things have happened lately around here. Ms. Pinky disappeared, your housekeeper had a fatal accident, the prison break... Not to mention all the missing pets people have reported in this area, but of course they are not very high priority at the moment."
Mrs. Hatter: "Surely that isn't so much. Just a coincidence, statistical anomaly."

Meanwhile in the kitchen

story photo

Eggzorcist: "Look what I've got."
Hilda: "What a nice big froggie you have there. Mmmm, I'm sure it will taste delicious."
Eggzorcist: "You don't think it's gross?"
Hilda: "Why would I?"

Another try

story photo

Eggzorcist: "How about these? I don't know whose ear that is, I just found it like that, and I'm not quite sure I even wanna know."
Hilda: "You've got to try harder, sweetheart. I've seen much worse. However, if I were you, I'd take those out and fast. That detective is talking with Mrs. Hatter, and I heard him saying something about missing pets in the area. You don't want to give him any ideas, do you?"

Family discussion

story photo

Mrs. Hatter: "That detective is starting to suspect. I don't know what it is, but he must know something or he wouldn't have talked the way he did."
Mr. Hatter: "What can he do? He can't have any evidence, Damien is very good at disposing the bodies."
Damien: "Maybe he's just guessing and wanted to see your reaction."
Mrs. Hatter: "Whatever it is, we'll be seeing a lot of him after he finds out that Kelly is missing."

Looking for Kelly

story photo

Tommy: "I'm afraid I have some bad news. It seems that Kelly has disappeared. She hasn't been seen for a few days, and nobody knows where she is. As she is my fiancee, my boss won't let me investigate. This here is Detective Wolf. He has just moved here, and the boss thought it would be best to assign this case to someone who isn't in any way connected to anybody involved."

Questions

story photo

Wolf: "I understand that Kelly is a good friend of yours. Have you heard anything about her in the last couple of days?"
Mrs. Hatter: "I saw her last time at our party. We had a little chat, and she said something about second thoughts, but I thought that was quite normal. I know I had some both times before getting married, but they always passed."
Wolf: "Tommy, maybe it would be best for you to return to the station. I'll stay here for a little longer, just to look around."
